Why You Cannot Achieve More Than One Goal in The Same Period of Time

One of the most common traps people fall into is trying very hard to achieve more than one goal in the same period of time. They might be very motivated to master more than one skill so they create a schedule to help them work on all their goals in a daily basis. They keep working hard on multiple goals in the same time for months without getting a satisfying result. Then they start to question their strategy in learning each skill and change it and keep repeating the same cycle again. They start to work on one goal all the time but after two or three weeks they start to work in more than one goal and the cycle keep repeating.

What I mean by a goal or a skill in this post is something like, improving your academic performance, master a musical instrument, learn a language, have a good body shape, learn drawing, be a great engineer, be great writer, learn a coding language, …etc. These are just some examples but you got the point. If you are very serious about achieving a big goal you need to free your time as much as possible so you can work on your ONE goal more and more. The more time you put into your goal, the better your progress pace will get. You only have 24 hours in the day and it is not really enough for achieving two goals at the same time. It is important to make your brain occupied by only one goal.

Moreover, you have limited amount of energy in each day. When you divide your energy between multiple goals, you will have very poor progress if any. In fact, whatever progress you make won’t be permanent and it will most likely be gone quickly. This is because your brain is drifting between multiple goals constantly. Most people usually master a skill after years of practice. It is very crucial to work only in one goal for a very long period of time until you feel that you need less time and effort to maintain it and improve. At this point, you can start working in a new goal and keep working in your previous goal in the same time.

A few years ago, I fall in this trap. I started telling myself that I am still young and I don’t have to achieve all my goals as soon as possible. I kept telling myself that I have to postpone all my goals and focus only in one goal until I achieve it. It took me a few months just to break up my thinking and let go of all my goals to improve my academic performance in college. I started spending around 8-10 hours every (expect Friday 4H) for more than 8 months. I have improved my academic performance astronomically. It was much easier for me to absorb information and solve the exams easily. I have achieved my goal of getting my degree with high GPA. It is still difficult for me to choose only one goal at a time, so I have decided to choose two goals every year. This will make me master a lot of skills after only a few years. This is how I do it. How about you?

Poison Positivity

When I was in my third year in college, I had an acute depression. I had very bad grades and I had a lot of family problems. Starting from 2018, I decided to listen and read about self-development. I immersed myself in this world and I replaced my negativity with positivity. I literally brainwashed my brain. After I have have solved my depression problem completely, I started looking unsatisfied on many self-development post. I realized that often time, being optimistic is just a way of escaping the brutal truth. It is actually will make you less happy instead of more happy. Even too much positivity is bad for you.

The Chalisgaon Solar Panel Vandalism Incident: A Labor Protest Turned Viral

In 2018, a labor dispute at a solar farm in Chalisgaon, Maharashtra, India, escalated into an incident of vandalism, where frustrated workers destroyed solar panels. The workers were employed to construct and maintain a 100-megawatt solar project but took drastic action due to unpaid wages. Videos showed them smashing the panels with hammers and sticks in protest. Initially, some misinformation circulated online, suggesting that the destruction was motivated by superstitions, such as blaming the panels for causing droughts. However, fact-check investigations confirmed that the primary reason was non-payment of wages. The workers, angered by the delayed compensation, decided to damage the infrastructure as a form of protest. This incident highlights the vulnerabilities within labor management in large-scale infrastructure projects. The combination of financial mismanagement and lack of proper communication between workers and project administrators can lead to such severe reactions. The...
