Do not Mistake Your Goal With Your Goal's Steps To Achieve It

Many people make a big mistake when they work on a goal. They focus on the quantity of their hard work more than the quality. It is very important to be wise when you work in your goal. For example, if you want to be a good writer, it does not mean that you need to write fixed amount of words or articles every day to improve your writing. If you want to lose weight, it does not mean that you need to go to the gym every day for 3 hours. It is not really wise to tell yourself to do a fixed amount of work every day in order to achieve your goal. In the beginning of 2019, I have decided to build the habit of reading books. I decided to read 5 pages every day and gradually increase the number. It turned out to be a bad strategy for me since English is my second language. I started to focus more on finishing the number of pages I chose instead of understanding the content of the pages. The point of reading books is to gain knowledge and not just to finish many books and be proud about it. I realized this mistake after a while and I fixed it by focusing on the content more and more. I started to reread the same paragraph over and over until I fully understand it. After I finish the whole book, I reread it again.

Another example is during my math courses. I used to think that I need to solve all the exercises in each section to be prepared for the exam. I gradually realized that my goal is not to solve all the exercises but to get a high grade in the exam. This mean that I need to understand the lessons and solve only 5-7 problems from each section to be prepared for the exam and get high grades. It worked for me. It is very critical to fully understand this concept and learn how to create wise strategy for each goal. Otherwise, you will waste time and energy without understanding why you failed.

Often times, we focus to much on the steps to reach our goal and we mistake them by the goal itself. We start telling ourselves that in order to achieve our target goal, we need to follow certain steps in a daily basis. We gradually start to focus on keeping doing the steps every day until we start to make these steps our goal instead of the original goal. We actually fooling ourselves just so we can feel good about ourselves. In reality, we are not really making a progress in our goal. Do you agree or disagree? And why?

Poison Positivity

When I was in my third year in college, I had an acute depression. I had very bad grades and I had a lot of family problems. Starting from 2018, I decided to listen and read about self-development. I immersed myself in this world and I replaced my negativity with positivity. I literally brainwashed my brain. After I have have solved my depression problem completely, I started looking unsatisfied on many self-development post. I realized that often time, being optimistic is just a way of escaping the brutal truth. It is actually will make you less happy instead of more happy. Even too much positivity is bad for you.

The Chalisgaon Solar Panel Vandalism Incident: A Labor Protest Turned Viral

In 2018, a labor dispute at a solar farm in Chalisgaon, Maharashtra, India, escalated into an incident of vandalism, where frustrated workers destroyed solar panels. The workers were employed to construct and maintain a 100-megawatt solar project but took drastic action due to unpaid wages. Videos showed them smashing the panels with hammers and sticks in protest. Initially, some misinformation circulated online, suggesting that the destruction was motivated by superstitions, such as blaming the panels for causing droughts. However, fact-check investigations confirmed that the primary reason was non-payment of wages. The workers, angered by the delayed compensation, decided to damage the infrastructure as a form of protest. This incident highlights the vulnerabilities within labor management in large-scale infrastructure projects. The combination of financial mismanagement and lack of proper communication between workers and project administrators can lead to such severe reactions. The...

Why You Cannot Achieve More Than One Goal in The Same Period of Time

One of the most common traps people fall into is trying very hard to achieve more than one goal in the same period of time. They might be very motivated to master more than one skill so they create a schedule to help them work on all their goals in a daily basis. They keep working hard on multiple goals in the same time for months without getting a satisfying result. Then they start to question their strategy in learning each skill and change it and keep repeating the same cycle again. They start to work on one goal all the time but after two or three weeks they start to work in more than one goal and the cycle keep repeating.             What I mean by a goal or a skill in this post is something like, improving your academic performance, master a musical instrument, learn a language, have a good body shape, learn drawing, be a great engineer, be great writer, learn a coding language, …etc. These are just some examples but you ...
