Success and Happiness are Subjective Terms

After diving in the self-development world for more than two years, I have changed my life radically. It was basically a brainwashing process where I format all my bad thoughts and negativity. I give up playing video games and wasting time and I started working very hard to change myself. I gradually started sleeping around 4 hours every day for more than three months because I refused to slow down my progress in my goals. I eventually solved all my big problems such poor academic performance, fear of people judgement and low self-esteem. I don’t make excuses as much as before and know what does it take to master any skill.

This experience made me realize that anyone can change and be a happy and successful person if he/she embedded certain habits into his/her life. If you desperately want to gain certain skill or achieve a goal it is important to estimate the needed time and effort for that particular skill or goal. I gradually started judging people who waste their time and make excuses. It was very frustrating to see some of my classmates who complain about the difficulty of the course while they don’t put sufficient effort to keep up with the class. I was on fire. During my fourth year in college, I used to spend an average of 8 hours every day (except Friday) studying. I didn’t meet my friends for more than three months.

In the self-development world, we constantly hear influencers encouraging people who have low income to improve their lives and get a better job. This point caught my attention. People who have low income are not necessarily are not fulfilled and unhappy. As I have pointed out before, it is important to estimate the time and effort needed to gain a particular goal. Some of the people who have low income have realized the time and effort needed to get better job and decided that it is not worth it. One of the main reason why they decided not improve their lives is because they are not interested in making any changes in their lives. They want to have the same kind of daily life every day. The second main reason is because they realize the responsibilities entailed in higher position and for them it won’t make them happier.

In conclusion, success and happiness is subjective which mean we can’t decide what will make people happy or unhappy. We should not push our ideas of success and happiness into people based on habits and technique that worked only for us. We need to have wider look into this term and what does it mean for each individual before we give advice.

Poison Positivity

When I was in my third year in college, I had an acute depression. I had very bad grades and I had a lot of family problems. Starting from 2018, I decided to listen and read about self-development. I immersed myself in this world and I replaced my negativity with positivity. I literally brainwashed my brain. After I have have solved my depression problem completely, I started looking unsatisfied on many self-development post. I realized that often time, being optimistic is just a way of escaping the brutal truth. It is actually will make you less happy instead of more happy. Even too much positivity is bad for you.

The Chalisgaon Solar Panel Vandalism Incident: A Labor Protest Turned Viral

In 2018, a labor dispute at a solar farm in Chalisgaon, Maharashtra, India, escalated into an incident of vandalism, where frustrated workers destroyed solar panels. The workers were employed to construct and maintain a 100-megawatt solar project but took drastic action due to unpaid wages. Videos showed them smashing the panels with hammers and sticks in protest. Initially, some misinformation circulated online, suggesting that the destruction was motivated by superstitions, such as blaming the panels for causing droughts. However, fact-check investigations confirmed that the primary reason was non-payment of wages. The workers, angered by the delayed compensation, decided to damage the infrastructure as a form of protest. This incident highlights the vulnerabilities within labor management in large-scale infrastructure projects. The combination of financial mismanagement and lack of proper communication between workers and project administrators can lead to such severe reactions. The...

Why You Cannot Achieve More Than One Goal in The Same Period of Time

One of the most common traps people fall into is trying very hard to achieve more than one goal in the same period of time. They might be very motivated to master more than one skill so they create a schedule to help them work on all their goals in a daily basis. They keep working hard on multiple goals in the same time for months without getting a satisfying result. Then they start to question their strategy in learning each skill and change it and keep repeating the same cycle again. They start to work on one goal all the time but after two or three weeks they start to work in more than one goal and the cycle keep repeating.             What I mean by a goal or a skill in this post is something like, improving your academic performance, master a musical instrument, learn a language, have a good body shape, learn drawing, be a great engineer, be great writer, learn a coding language, …etc. These are just some examples but you ...
