2022/05/04 (Why Calculus is Difficult?)

During our 12 years in school, we have learned all algebra techniques such as additions, substructions, division and multiplication. In each one of these techniques, there are many techniques. If you have an exam, you know which techniques you need to study to pass the exam.

However, in Calculus it is more complicated. In each problem, you need to use a technique before you start solving the problem. In each exam, you will have to use many techniques before you start solving any problem. You are supposed to be able to use each one of these techniques. But there are so many techniques and you don't remember all of them because you haven't used them since long time ago. Or you might be not sure which technique you need to use because some problems can be solved by more than one specific technique.

So when students start studying Calculus, the teacher assumes that they already know all the simple techniques that schools teach. Calculus teacher keep repeating this phrases over and over "my 10 years son can solve this problem", "You should have learned this in Middle school", "If you don't know this technique, you need to go back to middle school math book and study it. I don't have enough time in the class to teach you this technique" and similar phrases.

This makes a lot of students frustrated. Three credits subject will be 10 credits subject when you take to account the amount of techniques you need to study again because you have forgotten them. Calculus have made many people cancel their plans to study Engineering or any major that require studying a lot of Calculus. I personally have repeated 5 math classes in my 4 years in college. It was like a nightmare for me. I struggled to pass math classes. I did it but many have failed.

Poison Positivity

When I was in my third year in college, I had an acute depression. I had very bad grades and I had a lot of family problems. Starting from 2018, I decided to listen and read about self-development. I immersed myself in this world and I replaced my negativity with positivity. I literally brainwashed my brain. After I have have solved my depression problem completely, I started looking unsatisfied on many self-development post. I realized that often time, being optimistic is just a way of escaping the brutal truth. It is actually will make you less happy instead of more happy. Even too much positivity is bad for you.

The Chalisgaon Solar Panel Vandalism Incident: A Labor Protest Turned Viral

In 2018, a labor dispute at a solar farm in Chalisgaon, Maharashtra, India, escalated into an incident of vandalism, where frustrated workers destroyed solar panels. The workers were employed to construct and maintain a 100-megawatt solar project but took drastic action due to unpaid wages. Videos showed them smashing the panels with hammers and sticks in protest. Initially, some misinformation circulated online, suggesting that the destruction was motivated by superstitions, such as blaming the panels for causing droughts. However, fact-check investigations confirmed that the primary reason was non-payment of wages. The workers, angered by the delayed compensation, decided to damage the infrastructure as a form of protest. This incident highlights the vulnerabilities within labor management in large-scale infrastructure projects. The combination of financial mismanagement and lack of proper communication between workers and project administrators can lead to such severe reactions. The...

Why You Cannot Achieve More Than One Goal in The Same Period of Time

One of the most common traps people fall into is trying very hard to achieve more than one goal in the same period of time. They might be very motivated to master more than one skill so they create a schedule to help them work on all their goals in a daily basis. They keep working hard on multiple goals in the same time for months without getting a satisfying result. Then they start to question their strategy in learning each skill and change it and keep repeating the same cycle again. They start to work on one goal all the time but after two or three weeks they start to work in more than one goal and the cycle keep repeating.             What I mean by a goal or a skill in this post is something like, improving your academic performance, master a musical instrument, learn a language, have a good body shape, learn drawing, be a great engineer, be great writer, learn a coding language, …etc. These are just some examples but you ...
