Is Your Goal Worth the Time and Effort?

It is very important to estimate how much time and effort your goal requires. Many people get into the trap of working hard to achieve a goal which is not really worth the effort. These people are usually very motivated and serious to achieve their goals. They are very driven and focus in achieving their goal which is a good thing. The problem is that after a period of time of continuous hard work they start to criticize people who don’t work hard on their goals and they consider them soft. While many people do make excuses, and don’t put enough effort to achieve their goal, some of them do have a valid excuse.  If you want to achieve a certain goal, it is important to estimate the time and effort needed to achieve that goal and decide if it is worth it or not. For example, learning a language will take more than a year of constant studying for most people. Often times people say they are interested in learning X language but they don’t put sufficient among of effort to learn that ...

Why I Prefer to Use IPhone More Than Android Phones

Nowadays IPhone is very popular around the world. You can see people everywhere around the globe using it. It is dominating the smartphone market around the world. However, android phones are getting better and better every year and they are becoming a strong rival for IPhone. You have a variety of feature and prices in android phones compares to IPhone. In the essay, I will explain why I prefer to use IPhone more than android phones.             IPhone’s software is compatible with the hardware. IPhone’s software is created by Apple itself and not another company. This mean that they have complete knowledge of the capability of the device and how they can deal with it. On the other hand, android is a software made by Google than other smartphone companies take it and modify it to be compatible with their devices. This can create a big problem because the original android software might contain some features which is not compat...

Do not Mistake Your Goal With Your Goal's Steps To Achieve It

Many people make a big mistake when they work on a goal. They focus on the quantity of their hard work more than the quality. It is very important to be wise when you work in your goal. For example, if you want to be a good writer, it does not mean that you need to write fixed amount of words or articles every day to improve your writing. If you want to lose weight, it does not mean that you need to go to the gym every day for 3 hours. It is not really wise to tell yourself to do a fixed amount of work every day in order to achieve your goal. In the beginning of 2019, I have decided to build the habit of reading books. I decided to read 5 pages every day and gradually increase the number. It turned out to be a bad strategy for me since English is my second language. I started to focus more on finishing the number of pages I chose instead of understanding the content of the pages. The point of reading books is to gain knowledge and not just to finish many books and be proud about it. I ...

Why You Cannot Achieve More Than One Goal in The Same Period of Time

One of the most common traps people fall into is trying very hard to achieve more than one goal in the same period of time. They might be very motivated to master more than one skill so they create a schedule to help them work on all their goals in a daily basis. They keep working hard on multiple goals in the same time for months without getting a satisfying result. Then they start to question their strategy in learning each skill and change it and keep repeating the same cycle again. They start to work on one goal all the time but after two or three weeks they start to work in more than one goal and the cycle keep repeating.             What I mean by a goal or a skill in this post is something like, improving your academic performance, master a musical instrument, learn a language, have a good body shape, learn drawing, be a great engineer, be great writer, learn a coding language, …etc. These are just some examples but you ...

How Being Pessimistic Can Make You a Limited Person

For some reasons, some people enjoy being pessimistic all the time. They are very professional at producing the worst-case scenario for any situation at any time. It might be a mystery for many people to understand how these people are very good at being pessimistic. They are able to produce the worst possibility in any situation right in the scene. In order to be a professional pessimistic, it is extremely crucial to fully understand that mindset of a professional pessimistic.              Being a pessimistic is a habit. The more you practice the better you get. Unlike good habits, bad habits are built unintentionally. It starts with a bad event in your life which makes you feel pain, which makes you pay a strong attention to the cause of the pain so you can prevent it from happening again. For example, if you got bitten by a dog, you will start to pa...

4 Reasons to Watch Documentaries to Improve Your Level in Your Target Language

When it comes to learning a new language, people have wide range of methods and techniques they recommend. Some prefer the old-school method which mean using textbooks and offline materials. Others, prefer using computers and modern technology. Based on my own experience in learning English, watching documentaries was extremely helpful in improve my progress pace. Here are 4 reasons why you should consider watching documentaries to improve your level in your target language: 1# Learning the pronunciation and the spelling as well             Reading is an excellent exercise to improve your vocabulary and spelling. However, if you spend a lot of time only reading, you won’t know how the word is pronounce. This concept requires having the subtitle feature activated. Success and Happiness are Subjective Terms

After diving in the self-development world for more than two years, I have changed my life radically. It was basically a brainwashing process where I format all my bad thoughts and negativity. I give up playing video games and wasting time and I started working very hard to change myself. I gradually started sleeping around 4 hours every day for more than three months because I refused to slow down my progress in my goals. I eventually solved all my big problems such poor academic performance, fear of people judgement and low self-esteem. I don’t make excuses as much as before and know what does it take to master any skill. This experience made me realize that anyone can change and be a happy and successful person if he/she embedded certain habits into his/her life. If you desperately want to gain certain skill or achieve a goal it is important to estimate the needed time and effort for that particular skill or goal. I gradually started judging people who waste their time and make excu...

How Parkinson's Law Affects Students

The Wikipedia definition of   Parkinson's Law is the adage that  "work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion" . It is very important to put a reasonable time frame for each task you are willing to do otherwise you will be spending more time in a task that need less time. This is extremely important for students to fully understand this concept.   One of the most common mistakes students do when they study for exams is forgetting the time limit during the exam. Let’s say for example the exam time is an hour for four physics problems. This means that you need to solve one problem each 15 minute. While some teachers don’t explain anything about the exam beforehand, the student still need to estimate the needed time for each problem. Most teachers do realize that some students are capable of solving the exam correctly when they are given more time. However, time is part of the evaluation of the student’s progress and skills in the course.    Mo...

How Journaling every day have changed my life

A few years ago, I had many problems with my family and my academic performance was very bad. These problems kept happening until I got into an acute depression. It was very painful to feel worthless and have no confidence. At that time, I decided to change myself and be a better person. I have decided that I won’t accept my situation and I will fix all my problems one by one. Among all the habits that I have developed, the most radical one of them is journaling. The truth is that I was very frustrated with my handwriting and I thought that if I write every day for one hour I will improve my handwriting after a while. So, I carried a notebook with me to college and I started writing my thoughts between my classes every day. I used to spend more than one hour every day. I kept doing this for more than six months. I didn’t realize that what I am doing is called journaling until a very long time. I was a very surprised of what I wrote. I realized that I had a lot of negativity and pessimi...

The need to make lot of decisions will makes you constantly thinking about which option is better. This will gradually make you make a lot of unwise decisions and later on you will start to hesitate in making decisions. The main problem with constantly have to make a lot of decisions is that your mind will constantly be occupied and this will decrease your focus and concentration. This is the reason why many people advice you to plan and prepare everything before you sleep. This will make you avoid making decisions in the morning and will make your mind clear. The Number of COVID 19 Cases is Misleading

In 2019, December China have announced about a new disease which is spreading across China rapidly and warned about the possibility that it has already reached other countries. Starting from march most countries around the globe started taking the disease seriously. We started hearing about the confirmed cases in each country. In the beginning, it was relatively an accurate number but gradually the numbers started to be way far from the truth. We started to know more and more about Covid 19 and we realized how it is extremely contagious. After a few months from entering a country, Covid 19 might infect hundreds of thousands or even millions of people depending on the population of the country and some other factors. At this point, hospitals stop taking tests for anyone. You need to be really sick to be considered for taking the test. Gradually, the number of people who want to take the test skyrocket. How running affect your resting hear beat

I have been running everyday in the morning since two years. I have gained a lot of benefits from running such as more focus, more energy and reduction in my stress. It also helped me to improve my blood circulation and improve my health. However, I didn't know that running can lower my resting heart rate. Running every day in a steady moderate pace will force the heart to pump more blood in higher beating rate. This will gradually make your heart stronger and stronger. This mean that the heart can pump more blood per one beat. This mean that you will have low heart beat rate at rest. This information have attracted my attention when I heard it. I am very proud of myself and the habits that I have created. I also have created a lot of habits which I will talk about them in my future posts.

Globalization

This have led to some people to think that there is no need to travel to experience different culture because they can experience it in their own country. Although it might be true that cultures around the world are getting influenced by each other, they are still unique. First of all, different cultures speak different languages. Language is part of the identity of each person. For example Arabic is the language of Islam. Muslim need learn Arabic to read Quran. Jewish need to learn Hebrew to read Torah. Traveling to a country where the majority can speak certain language and meeting the local people will allow you to understand the culture more.
